Burnet, Texas - Camp Buckner

Overview:

We are thrilled to announce that Oak Stone Christian Church will be hosting the Feast of Tabernacles this fall in Burnet, Texas, at Camp Buckner from October 17-24, 2024.

Camp Buckner is a beautiful campus that sits on 800 acres of Texas Hill Country. On-site activities include hiking, volleyball, pickleball, basketball, swimming, soccer, softball, frisbee golf, human foosball, gaga ball, 9 square, horseshoes, fire pits, as well as many others. Off campus you will find state parks, vineyards, and many other fun places to explore. You can read more about Camp Buckner here.

This 8-day festival will include a daily worship service, VBS for the kids, teen events, group meals, campfire worship nights, prayer and Bible study groups, organized sports events, outreach opportunities, and more. While the dates for the Feast are October 17-24, on-site rooms are blocked off for check-in on October 16 and check-out on October 25.

Registration will be required to attend the Feast with Oak Stone and is now open as of 3/5/2024!

We would ask that you please carefully read through all details below prior to registration.


ACCOMMODATIONS:

Two hotel-style camp buildings providing a total of 36 rooms (the Chateau and the Lodge) will house everyone who chooses to stay on site. We highly recommend doing this, if possible! Next door is the beautiful Faith Hall building where worship services will be held. Each hotel room has 1 queen bed and 1 or 2 bunkbeds (sleeping a max of 4 or 6 per room). Some hotel rooms also have adjoining options for those with larger families. Rooms do not have kitchens or fridges, but you are welcome to bring a cooler or mini-fridge of your own to keep food in (recommended, especially for breakfasts).

We hope as many as possible will choose to stay on-site in order to have the best experience and to maximize opportunities for fellowship, engagement, and ministry toward one another. It’s also incredibly convenient, especially for those with kids!

Please note that:

* We will be able to maximize Feast attendees and optimize room situations/assignments if everyone books a room that is no larger (in terms of capacity) than what they have need of. Please be cognizant of this as you register.

* At the present time, on-site rooms cannot be booked for a portion of the festival. By staying on site, you are agreeing to pay for the full 8-day room booking(s) regardless of any late arrival or early departure dates.

* Check in will be any time after 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16. Check out will be by 11 AM on Friday, October 25.

On-Site Housing Rates:

  • Chateau rooms (slightly larger than Lodge rooms, includes an extra bunk bed, and sleeps up to 6): $1,440 for 8 nights

  • Lodge rooms (slightly smaller than Chateau rooms, and sleeps up to 4): $1,120 for 8 nights

Staying Off site:

If you choose to stay off site, Camp Buckner requires a daily access fee to help cover access to all of the camp’s general activities and amenities. The fee has been negotiated down to $7.50 per person, per day (or $60 per person for all 8 days).

The daily access fee applies to adults and children 5 years old and above (4 years old and under are free). Payment for these day passes will be included on your invoice.


MEALS: 

-Breakfast-

No breakfasts will be provided. For those staying on campus, we strongly recommend bringing a cooler or mini fridge to keep some easy breakfast items on hand.

-Lunch-

Camp Buckner has a beautiful dining hall that will be supplying our lunches after worship service each day. We find that some of the best times of fellowship happen while eating together, and we want to foster that family environment while at the Feast. Please note that there are no kitchens in the on-site hotel rooms, so participating in the group meals is recommended. Any parties staying off site are also encouraged to participate in the on-site meals.

Group lunch is scheduled daily.

-Dinner-

Oak Stone will be hosting and serving group dinners several times over the course of the week. There will also be evenings when nothing is planned so that attendees can leave campus to enjoy some of the local restaurants. Details on dates, times, and frequencies are forthcoming.

Group dinner is scheduled to occur 3 - 4 times throughout the Feast.

-Costs and Details-

With regard to Lunch and Dinner meal plans, please note that:

  • Advance registration is necessary so that the Camp Buckner and Oak Stone can meal-plan accordingly.

  • For those who will be participating in the group meals, there is a suggested donation of $10 per person, per day (or $80 per person for the 8 days), but we would ask that you give as you feel led by the Lord.

  • Food donations are not invoiced in advance; they may be given during the week of the Feast.

  • Gluten and dairy allergies can be accommodated. Please make a note of any allergies in your registration.


PAYMENT: 

  • Payments for on-site lodging and off-site day passes will be collected by Oak Stone and are due in full by September 17, 2024 (or sooner).

  • Upon completion of the registration/application form, you will receive a copy of your registration by email from Oak Stone - Jotform. You will also receive an automated invoice from PayPal. PLEASE DO NOT PAY INVOICE UNTIL YOU RECEIVE EMAIL NOTIFICATION OF BEING ACCEPTED/APPROVED!

  • You will be notified via email once you are approved to attend (typically within 2 weeks of application)

  • If you need to make any edits to your registration, please do not pay invoice. Contact FOT@oakstone.co with the requested changes as soon as possible.

  • If you anticipate any changes to the details that affect billing (EG, on-site rooms, number of daily off-site attendees), please delay paying your invoice. It will be much better for all parties to make the necessary changes prior to making a payment so refunds, balance adjustments, and lost service fees are avoided.  Note that we cannot refund payment service fees.

  • Payment must be paid via the PayPal invoice. This will significantly streamline our accounting process. Thank you for helping us in this way!

  • If your circumstances change, refunds can be issued if requested on or before September 30, 2024. Unfortunately the 3.5% PayPal processing fees are non-refundable. 


IMPORTANT CAMP Buckner POLICIES: 

Camp Buckner prohibits alcoholic beverages, smoking, firearms, illegal substances, balloons, and fireworks. Pets are not allowed. Also, please note that if there are drought conditions, campfires are subject to restrictions and cancellation at the camp’s discretion.

Non-compliance with Camp Buckner's facility rules may result in expulsion from the camp with no refund.
